We’re on the home stretch of the holiday season and our waistbands are starting to feel the effects of just too many “having-just-this-one-piece-won’t-hurt” pieces of fudge or other candy, cookies, or slices of pumpkin or pecan pie with “you-can-never-have-too-much” whipped cream on top.
Fortunately, Tafon will come to our rescue! According to the very sincere man in the commercial (after he tells us that a photo doesn’t lie and that we, indeed, look “that way” to family and friends), “You can lose up to pound a day safely, sanely, and enjoyably.”
I couldn’t find any further information about Tafon other than it was approved for sale in Victoria, Australia in 1956, as a diet aid. So, your guess is as good as mine as to what was actually in that stuff!
Anway, in preparation for your New Year’s Resolution to never, ever, overeat again (until the Super Bowl party, that is), I bring you this vintage Tafon commercial!
