In the movie Basic Instinct, Sharon Stone recrosses her legs and ends up showing her Best China to the detectives. They are stunned, of course, and her ploy to distract them works.
I’m guessing, however, that you are like me and have no intention of showcasing your Lady Parts while sitting down. Unfortunately, too many women unintentionally put on a show because they have not learned the fine art of sitting like a model.
I am petite so my feet don’t usually reach the ground when I sit. But while watching Chita Johnson, an instructor for the John Roberts Powers School of Modeling, I learned a few tips–including how to cross one’s legs without displaying my Goodness and Mercy–that I will put into practice so that I don’t look like a squatty body when I’m sitting down.
By the way, I stole the “Goodness and Mercy” euphemism from Adeea Rogers’ video How to Sit Like a Lady. Her demonstration starts at around 4:00 and her annotations are a hoot because she discovered that the camera picked up more than she thought it would while she was recording it. She simply tells us to learn from her mistakes because we may be doing the same things without realizing it!
