Happiness is a thing to be practiced, like the violin. – John Lubbock
It was another stressful day at work because I got caught in the middle of some drama. One person kept apologizing for “putting me in the middle of it” but I still had to deal with other people’s anger–not directed at me– in order to do my own job. When The Mister picked me up at the end of the day, I was emotionally exhausted and had a terrible headache.
When we got home, I retreated to our bedroom suite and spent time reflecting about the day. At the risk of sounding a bit on the looney side, I realized that my “force field” has not been as strong as is it could be because I’ve been so worried about The Mister and his elderly parents. The Mister has been telling me that he’s been worried about my force field, but I was shrugging him off.
Okay, I’m going to get even more “out there…” My force field is an imaginary egg shell that surrounds me. An egg shell is a membrane that allows the good stuff to come in but the hardness protects against toxic elements that can do harm. The inside of the eggshell is filled with love, joy, happiness, and all of that other good stuff.
I have gotten out of the habit of choosing happiness by doing a daily meditation of surrounding myself with my “egg shell” filled with love.
Like a violin, I have to practice happiness and visualizing my eggshell so that other people’s negative emotions don’t destroy me little by little.
Do you have a visualization that protects you from other people’s harmful energy?
