Sarah wins the extra credit points on the pop quiz we took the other day to determine the best type of home to go with our personalities. She correctly pointed out in the comments that the quiz seemed more like a personality quiz than a design quiz. But there is the key right there. You see, your personality is what is most important when determining the type of home that’s right for you. Although I enjoy looking at the craftsmanship of 18th-century furniture, it is a bit too fussy for my personality. How about you? What is the type of home that’s right for you?
So, Glam Pack it is time to grade your quizzes to discover the home that’s right for you! Get out your answer sheets. I hope you remembered to only choose two from each set of statements. We don’t want to throw the calculations off!
How to Score:
In Decorating Begins With You, Mary Jean Alexander tells us that the score of the quiz is based on five TYPES of homes (she capitalized it, I guess, to make sure that we don’t miss that we are looking types rather than specifics). Each choice we made in the quiz counts one point for one or another of the types. Below are the home types with a brief description of each–and the quiz answers that count for that particular type–that I scanned from the book. It’s kind of like a matching quiz but without the lines going from the statement in one column to it’s matching statement in the other column! After we match up our responses with the type of home, we count how many points we received for each type of home. And that is how we know which home is right for us!
Now, don’t go starting to change your answers to fit the type you want it to be!
So? How did you do on your quiz? Did you score the way you thought you would? Or were there some surprises along the way?
Remember, as long as you focus on developing your own personal style instead of copying someone else’s or, worse, using the Target Method of Home Decorating, then you will earn an “A+” in this class!
