I was telling a colleague about a sewing project that seems to be taking forever. Although, to be fair, I’ve just been so busy getting ready for the fall semester that I haven’t had much time to devote to the project, so it isn’t the project’s fault it is taking so long.
But, when I saw this photo of Maureen O’Hara this afternoon, I knew instantly why we are all having trouble sewing. Yes, Ladies (and you few gents who read my blog), the secret to successful sewing is to do it while reclining in bed with most of the lights turned off. I’m not sure if the fur bed jacket is optional or not. I’m sure faux fur will work just as effectively, don’t you?
I promise that I won’t be bitter about not learning this pretty important secret in Seventh Grade Sewing Class….
Edited to add: Over on Facebook, Glam Pack member Mindy Johnson pointed out, “The long, false eyelashes must be part of the sewing kit too.” She is so right! I don’t know how I missed it.
