It’s prom season! And you know what that means, don’t you? Teenaged boys and girls dressed up in formal wear pretending to be comfortable! Thank goodness Coca~Cola has produced an educational film to guide young men and women on proper prom etiquette.
But they aren’t getting advice from just anyone. Oh, no. We are getting it from America’s Junior Miss herself–symbolic of the idealized version of a senior high school girl–Mary.
Mary starts out by telling us that it is helpful if we know if we’re going and with whom. Coincidentally, the phone rings right then and there and Mary gingerly picks up the phone as if she is surprised that it rang. Dick asks her to the prom and everything is set in motion for 15 more minutes of
stilted acting of exceptional advice on how to have a great time.
I’m pretty sure it is going to be just like this film for my niece and her date at her senior prom this year.
What? It could happen! (In magical pony land!)
PS: Look for the “subtle” product placement…
Did you go to your senior prom? Was it just like the video?
