Slim5819 has shared his family’s Christmas, saved on 8mm film, from 1939 on YouTube. In the movie, he is the two-year-old with the napkin on his head to protect him from the bright lights required to film movies back then.
I love that in 1939 a typewriter was the prized gift. I’m guessing that the 2013 equivalent to that would be a computer tablet of some sort.
What else do you notice about the differences between Christmas 1939 and modern Christmases?
