With every rising of the sun, think of your life as just begun. ~Unknown
Today is New Year’s Day. Like many people, I’ve spent the past few days reflecting upon 2012–what I’ve accomplished and what goals still need to be attained.
What I learned during my annus horribilis is that a very bad year filled with disappointments and trauma can seem to suddenly turn into an annus mirabilis with the dawn of a new day. Little changes “miraculously” add up to big changes before you know it.
So 2012 wasn’t that great for you? Or, you’ve already blown one of your New Year’s Resolutions? That’s okay. Because tomorrow is a new day and a new chance to take baby steps toward the life you desire.
What miracles are you going to create for yourself in 2013 (one day at a time)?

When my eldest was a baby — 35 years ago — I read that for the first three months of the baby’s life, every day is a new day. Over the years, I’ve pondered that because I believe that every day is a new day for everyone. (And that particular child has needed lots of fresh starts!) Maybe they meant that until three months the baby isn’t building memories. Even so, every day is a new day, an opportunity, a chance to improve ones’ life.
It’s so true that wonderful things are happening even before we recognize it. For instance, that job in Illinois was coming your way even before you knew it. I believe we must acknowledge good all the time because we don’t know how blessing will unfold. And — we can’t be denied the fruitage of our work.
Thanks for the post — always. Happy New Year to you, the Mister, and Everyone.
A good sentiment. I’ve also taken to heart new starts. Today as I woke I told myself, “Do today that which you would do from this day forward”, so far, so good!
Happy New Year to you & yours!
