The nice thing about the 'disqus' comment moderator is that it e-mails you all the comments related to any blog post - you have to subsribe to one at a time if you are interested. When I click on it, it takes me to my Google Reader page to subscribe. I will look into seeing if there is also a way to provide a link at the bottom of the posts so you can be selective on which conversations you want to join.
