You may notice a bunch of new posts here that you know you read over at Betty Crocker and Me. You’re not imagining things. I’ve imported the posts because I am re-combining the two blogs. Here is what I wrote on Betty Crocker and Me:
For several years, I posted recipes and information I found about eating like my grandmother on my Modern Retro Woman blog. And then I got the bright idea that I would have a blog that was dedicated solely to vintage recipes. I came of age when women were told we could have and do it all so I didn’t think it would be a big deal to add a third blog to my lineup. But the truth of the matter is that I just can’t write three different blogs and keep up at the level I would like.
I discovered that I felt disconnected with my cooking and that I had to try out a bunch of new recipes each week simply for the sake of the blog rather than as part of my journey as a 50′s homemaker. So, like before, when I find a recipe that I think is worth sharing, I’ll share it with you. And, I’ll share the recipes that don’t quite work, either.
Just as an FYI, the posts that I’ve imported have “Betty Crocker and Me” as the author.

Cool! I don’t know how, but I did not know about the Betty Crocker blog, I only saw the Sewing Cabinet blog on the left untill today, but I will enjoy reading about the recipes.
Dr. Julie – is there a way to subscribe to comments on your posts? I have seen “discus” on another blog, but I think it is a blogger one, just wondering if I am missing something.
Thanks,
Ann
Hi Ann! Hi Julie!
Julie, I so applaud this decision to move the recipes back to “Modern Retro Housewife.” Don’t get me wrong — you have such wonderful ideas — but I agree that it felt like cooking had disappeared from the retro journey. Thank you for bringing it back!
Ann, I think you can subscribe by clicking on the link for the RSS Comments in the “Meta” section at the bottom of the sidebar. When I click on it, it takes me to my Google Reader page to subscribe. I will look into seeing if there is also a way to provide a link at the bottom of the posts so you can be selective on which conversations you want to join.
Thanks, Kathy. The thing about me is that I’m willing to give my ideas a try and if it doesn’t work out, at least I know I tried. But the Betty Crocker site never really caught on…and part of the reason, I think, is that it felt disconnected from the journey.
Cool – I did subsribe to the feeds! The nice thing about the ‘disqus’ comment moderator is that it e-mails you all the comments related to any blog post – you have to subsribe to one at a time if you are interested. I like it but it may not be for everyone. for someone who checks e-mail a lot but not always at the computer it is good. Thanks, Ann
You asked for it, Ann, and I have found a widget for it! It is now installed. Thanks for the great idea!
