Sometimes we need to watch a “corny” and “sentimental” film (by today’s standards) to help us connect to and name some of the emotions we are feeling. Even though our leaders tell us the recession is officially over, many families, including mine, are still feeling the full weight of the downturn.
I’ll admit it. I cried while watching this film from 1951. Yes, the propaganda is evident but message of being thankful for the simple things in life still rings true today. This film does what it is supposed to do. It inspires us to hang in there and remember what is important.
Happy Thanksgiving to my readers from the United States. Today I am thankful for all of my readers’ generosity and for being my kindred spirits as we live by old-fashioned values and ways of doing things in our lives.

I loved this video. It was so simple, so sincere, and so true. We tend to forget what we are truly thankful for as our very busy lives fly past us, but I enjoyed just taking the time to watch and think about these things. Thanks, Julie-Ann!
