Way back in August, I mentioned a styrofoam meat tray wall hanging of a peacock that hung in our living room until my youngest sister destroyed it. Well, our friend Holly at Sweetheartville sent me an email almost two months ago telling me that she thought she had found directions on how to make the wall hanging. Unfortunately, I was in the midst of a steep learning curve with my interim position teaching graduate students how to be successful faculty members. As far as I can tell, Holly did, indeed find it in an April, 1966, Pack-O-Fun Magazine! Holly says,
This elegant beauty is made from nothing more than some discarded egg cartons, wire, and gold paint. But don’t think that the fun stops at peafowl, because all sorts of wondrous creations can be crafted from empty egg cartons, including a poodle, various flowers, a ring box, and even a hanging lamp!
While I am not sure that I want to go that far, I am grateful that the mystery has been solved. And, if you want to make your own egg carton creation, Holly has graciously supplied the instructions at her site.
Thanks, Holly!
